To me, it's glaringly obvious that this guy reads his bible <em>too much</em>, not too little. He is very in-tune with what his god commanded, and that's made clear by his unenlightened, barbaric, and generally angry attitude towards his fellow man. Even if it is like you suggest, and this guy should fear his apparently impending judgment...
